membership policies
We can’t wait to see you in the Museum! To ensure everyone has a safe and fun visit, all guests are expected to follow the Museum’s membership policies as outlined below.
Entry and Reservations
All members must have a valid ticketed reservation for each visit, even when admission is free with membership. Reservations may be made in advance or completed at the admissions desk with a Museum associate.
Identification Requirement
Members must present a valid photo ID that matches the adult name(s) listed on the membership at check-in. Only adults officially listed on the membership may use member benefits.
Membership Coverage
Membership provides free general admission for the number of adults and children included in the membership level. Adults must be accompanied by a child while visiting the Museum.
Adult Listings and Changes
Only registered adults may enter without an admission fee. Adult names on a membership may be changed no more than once per membership year. To update adult listings, contact membership@nationalchildrensmuseum.org.
Guests and Capacity Limits
Guest admissions must follow the guidelines of your specific membership level. On sold-out or high-capacity days, guests who are not listed on the membership may be denied entry. Members are encouraged to reserve or purchase guest tickets in advance.
Security and Re-Entry
All guests, including members, must follow Museum security procedures. Members who plan to exit and return the same day must obtain a hand stamp before leaving.
Membership Use and Limitations
Memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable. Benefits may only be used by the individuals named on the membership and cannot be applied retroactively to previously purchased tickets.
Renewals and Upgrades
Renewal discounts must be applied at the time of renewal and cannot be redeemed after renewal is completed. Members who wish to upgrade their membership level before expiration are only responsible for paying the difference between their current level and the upgraded level.
Member Conduct and Supervision
Members and their guests are expected to follow Museum rules, treat staff and visitors respectfully, and supervise children at all times. Unsafe or disruptive behavior, including bypassing admissions or security procedures, may result in removal from the Museum or revocation of membership without refund.
Policy Updates and Questions
National Children’s Museum reserves the right to update membership policies as needed. Questions about membership or policies may be directed to membership@nationalchildrensmuseum.org.
