We believe all children in our nation’s capital deserve a place where they can experience the power of play. National Children’s Museum sparks curiosity and creativity for children under twelve by blending the excitement of a science center with imaginative children’s museum experiences. Each experience is designed to nurture emerging innovators and encourage lifelong learning in a joyful, inclusive environment where every child’s imagination is celebrated.
Your gift is essential to support the Museum’s experience and general operations and address its most pressing needs. All gifts are 100% tax deductible.
our history
Founded in 1974, the Museum evolved from a beloved local institution to a nationally recognized museum, earning Congressional designation in 2003. After the closure of our original building, we operated as a “museum without walls,” reaching children across 14 states. Now in downtown DC with annual attendance of 225,000+, the Museum continues to provide innovative STEAM exhibits and experiences for children and families.
the president's circle
