Title 1 schools
The Museum is continuously working to secure funding to subsidize free field trips and workshop add-ons for Title 1 schools in DC, Virginia, and Maryland. If your school is eligible to receive support and funding is available at the time of your booking, our team will notify you.

chaperones
Chaperones receive FREE Museum admission. Our minimum chaperone requirements are: K-2: 1 adult required for every 5 students 3-5: 1 adult required for every 10 students
visit length
Field trips are booked for 1.5 hours of exploration in the Museum. Field trips with a workshop/s add-on are booked for 2 hours in the Museum. We will do our best to accommodate field trips that arrive late due to transportation issues.
snack/lunch
There is not a space available inside the Museum for groups to eat; however, groups are welcome to eat outside the Museum on the Woodrow Wilson Plaza or at the large food court in the adjacent Ronald Reagan Building. Please note, groups are not permitted re-entry to the Museum after leaving to eat. A limited number of bins will be available to store lunch bags and coats.
payment
Field trip rates are $15 per student and $150 per workshop add-on. Payment is due the day of the field trip. You and your billing administrator will receive a separate email with a price quote for your field trip based on the number of students and chaperones included in your booking request and any workshop add-ons discussed with our Education Team.
security
All visitors will pass through a short security screening upon entry. Please note, weapons are strictly prohibited at the Museum, which is located within the federal Ronald Reagan Building. This policy applies to all visitors, including those with permits, with the exception of Federal Protective Service officers per federal building policy.
