Calling all DC Public School and DC Charter School students and their families! On Monday, August 11, from 9:30 am - 4:30 pm, we are offering DC Public School and DC Charter School students and their families FREE admission to the Museum. And that’s not all! From 10 am - 2 pm, Woodrow Wilson Plaza will be abuzz with exciting activations presented by TCMA, including:
- a chance to meet Washington Commanders mascot Major Tuddy + grab Commanders giveaways
- a musical performance on the Live! Concert Series stage from noon – 1pm
- a children's book fair by Turning the Page
- community + activity tables
- free lemonade, insulated lunch bag, and healthy recipe giveaways
Special pop-up experiences will be happening inside the Museum hosted by long-time community partners Boeing and the Washington Commanders:
- Move and groove with Washington Commanders mascot Major Tuddy at a special football-themed Baby Jam.
- Build, test, and fly different paper airplane designs with Boeing at their DreamLearners station.
Not enrolled? Not a problem! Families will have the opportunity to enroll in the upcoming school year during the Plaza activation window, granting access to four free Museum walk-up tickets. Those currently enrolled in DCPS schools and DC Charter Schools can begin the process of reserving up to four free advance tickets for the August 11 event by completing this online form. Proof of enrollment is required on the day of the event to activate reserved tickets.
This event is made possible by the District of Columbia Executive Office of the Mayor – Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development in partnership with TCMA, with special contributions from the Washington Commanders.
