4th of july activity: burger flip challenge

about

Activity Overview
Celebrate the Fourth with the science of burger flipping! Use pre-built adjustable seesaws to launch “burger ingredient” pieces into a stacking target. By changing the fulcrum position on the lever arm, learners will explore how force and balance affect motion. Different weighted burger components (such as bun, patty, lettuce, and tomato) will respond differently, encouraging experimentation, prediction, and playful engineering problem-solving.

4th of July Activities
This is one of many activities celebrating our country’s 250th anniversary through the lens of the Museum’s own history! From July 1 through the 4th, we’ll be highlighting American scientists, thinkers, and changemakers with special hands-on programs based on moments and exhibits from National Children’s Museum’s past. Check out our events calendar to see the full list of activities!
