As a proud member of Museums for All, National Children’s Museum offers discounted admission to families who are enrolled in SNAP/EBT, WIC, Medicaid, and other qualifying government assistance programs.
Each qualifying family can redeem up to four discounted tickets, priced at $3 per person (children under one are always free).
how to redeem
Museums for All tickets are now available via the Walk Up line at our Admissions Desk.
They are offered on a first come, first served basis and must be used during standard operating hours (9:30 am – 4:30 pm, every day except Tuesdays) on the day of purchase.
Please note, you may be asked to show proof of qualification upon redemption.

Celebrate your little Dreamer’s big day in DC’s favorite place to play! Filled with hands-on experiences and STEAM-filled fun, our whimsical world of wonder provides the perfect backdrop for birthday celebrations and lifelong memory making.
what's included
- 90-minute rental of our Wonder Loft with tables, seating, and digital screen
- includes a 15-minute hands-on activity
- all-day play in the Museum for birthday guests on the day of the event
- special shirt for the birthday child
the details
- available on Saturdays and Sundays
- three rental start times, 9:45 am, 12:15 pm, and 2:45 pm
- hosts will have access to the Wonder Loft 15 minutes each before and after their 90-minute rental for setup and breakdown
- maximum of 28 guests, includes adults and children
- all parties must have a ratio of 1 chaperone per 4 children; chaperones are required to be 18 years and older
- birthday parties can be booked up to 4 months in advance and no later than 2 weeks in advance
activity options
Party hosts may choose from one of the birthday activities below.
science—ramps and rollers
Investigate how different shapes roll and slide. Design your own roller to continue the play at home. For ages 4 and under.
technology—paper circuits
Engineer a birthday design that lights up using simple circuit skills. For ages 7 and up. Please note, this activity includes the use of lithium coin batteries.
engineering—friendly fliers
Explore forces by constructing creatures that use wind power to move against gravity. For all ages.
art—doodle designs
Tinker with different art materials and create whimsical art to take home. For all ages.
math—data masterpieces
Collect data on height, width, and length to display your measurements as geometric works of art. For all ages.
