National Children’s Museum Announces Jasper Jung’s Appointment to Board of Trustees
Jung contributes extensive public policy and corporate communications expertise
WASHINGTON — National Children’s Museum, a nationally recognized cultural and educational institution dedicated to play-based science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) learning, announced the appointment of public policy and communications expert Jasper Jung of General Motors to its board of trustees.
Jung serves as Executive Director, Global Strategic Initiatives for Global Public Policy at General Motors (GM). Jung drives growth opportunities for the company and the advancement of GM’s vision for an all-electric future through strategic policy campaigns, engagement and advocacy.
“With his impressive global leadership experience and public policy perspective, Jasper is an invaluable addition to our board of trustees,” said Crystal R. Bowyer, President and CEO of National Children’s Museum. “His skill in developing strategic partnerships and his dedication to serving communities will be critical assets for the Museum as we expand our reach.”
Prior to joining GM in 2012, Jung held various roles in public policy and communications across the private, nonprofit and public sectors. He led communication strategies for the Corporate Partnerships Program at Environmental Defense Fund, a leading nonprofit environmental advocacy organization, and worked for a global public affairs firm, Public Strategies, Inc. (now known as H+K Strategies). He began his career in public policy at the White House and United States Senate. Jung earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government from The University of Texas at Austin. He currently resides in Washington, D.C., with his wife and two young children.
