Join us for the grand opening of our 50th Anniversary exhibit Placita Mágica—an immersive experience celebrating Mexican culture through the lens of science, technology, arts, and math. Explore Mexican traditions with special programming happening throughout the day!
- 9:30 – 10 am
from cacao to cocoa | follow the journey of the cacao bean from harvest to hot chocolate
- 11 am – 12 pm
marigold making | create your own marigold design and help us fill our community garden
- 2 – 3 pm
shadow play | explore light, shadows, and storytelling using cardboard papel picado, colored flashlights, and other materials
- 3:30 – 4:30 pm
papel picado | design and create your own papel picado to take home or display in the Museum
