Haunted House Workshop with Follies

Join us for a Haunted House Workshop, where kids can unleash their creativity with local toy maker Chloe Varelidi, creator of the Follies Play Sets. This exciting workshop happens at 10:30 am just outside the visiting exhibit hall and will run for about 30 mins.

Together, we’ll build and draw our very own haunted houses and spooky puppets inspired by the book Room On The Broom by Julia Donaldson and using Follies’ new Canvas Set. Get ready for a ghoulishly good time!

About Follies

Follies are award-winning big building shapes that kids connect to create whatever their imagination comes up with; a spaceship, a puppet theater, a doll house, the possibilities are endless. Winner of a NAPPA 2023 award, Oppenheim Golden Seal Award and a Top Creative Toy of 2023 Award, Follies is on a mission to unleash big size creativity for bright little minds.

About Chloe Varelidi

Chloe Varelidi is a trained architect, play designer and educator based in Washington, DC. Chloe invented Follies after working for ten years in the intersection of play and learning, launching everything from a public school based on play in New York to a national playful learning program in rural Kenya funded by The Lego Foundation. She is a Washington Award recipient and currently works out of her studio in Glover Park, sometimes with the company of her two young kiddos.
