GM Day

Calling all car lovers! Start your engines for a full day of fun with our friends from General Motors (GM), including a car display and special engineering activities. All activities are included in the price of admission.

• Cruise by the Woodrow Wilson Plaza (right outside the Museum’s main entrance) to take a seat behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Corvette, GMC Hummer EV, and GMC Sierra! Talk with vehicle experts, who can answer your questions.
• Try your hand at engineering your own car at the On the Go-Go racetrack with help from GM engineers who specialize in sustainability strategies, accessibility, and autonomous vehicles! Engage in the design cycle used by GM engineers to put new cars on the road: Come up with your idea, build it, test it, and then look for ways to improve it. 
• Dream up a wind-powered vehicle in the Tinkerers Studio using found materials, and test whether the vehicle can move over different terrains. Collaborate with GM engineers to hone your designs!
