technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) exhibits and programs. As Administrative
Systems Specialist
, you will help realize this vision for hundreds of thousands of visitors
each year.

what you’ll do

As Administrative Systems Specialist, reporting to the VP of Finance and Administration,
you will be a critical member of the administrative team. You will help provide support for all
of the Museum’s administrative and systems efforts and provide excellent customer service
to internal and external stakeholders.

Assist with administrative support across all areas of the Museum;

Serve as the in-house expert for PatronManager, the Museum’s CRM system,
including managing all sales, group bookings, field trip and education programming
reservations, and visitor use of PatronManager, programming and releasing tickets,
and running sales and attendance reports;

Enter and maintain clean data and adjust records as needed to maintain data quality
and ensure useful output of reports;

Send weekly/monthly financial updates and reconcile systems database to
accounting reports each month;

Monitor general field trip, education, and birthday email inbox for queries and
respond in a timely manner to provide exceptional customer service;

Provide logistical support for Museum events; and

Support other Museum-related tasks as needed.

Bachelor’s degree;

Previous experience in the non-profit sector, preferably at a cultural institution;

High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills;

Customer service perspective and polished interpersonal skills;

Ability to balance multiple time-critical projects and pivot quickly;

Team player who values a collaborative working environment;

Knowledge or experience working with emerging technology and interactive
software systems;

Strong writing skills with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences; and

Passion for the mission of National Children’s Museum.

additional helpful experience for this role:

2+ years of relevant systems and database experience;

Previous experience managing data; and

Proven ability to manage large projects while maintaining attention to detail.

hours + location

Full-time position located at the National Children’s Museum at 1300 Pennsylvania Ave NW.
Must be available to work onsite from 9am to 5pm five days per week. Occasional weekends
and after-hours work are required for meetings and special events.

salary + benefits

$58,000 – $68,000 commensurate with experience and skill set. This position is eligible for
health insurance.
