Interactive learning awaits! National Children’s Museum has developed virtual field trip experiences for young learners. Come explore the Museum, meet our educators, and dive-in to STEAM topics and activities. All content aligns to learning standards.
Educators, schedule a FREE, live virtual field trip extension session for your classroom with a Museum educator by indicating interest in the request form below. All educators are encouraged to sign up, with priority given to District classrooms in wards 5-8 and Title I classrooms in Prince George’s County and Montgomery County, Maryland.

climate action heroes virtual field trip
Climate Action Heroes—Unite! Dreamers will learn the difference between weather and climate, the effects of climate change, and the importance of using their climate action superpowers for good!
Note: Climate Action Heroes is an engaging viewing experience for all ages, but is particularly meaningful for independent 3rd – 5th graders.
head in the clouds virtual field trip
During this 20 minute video, viewers will virtually wander the Museum’s weather-themed exhibits, head outside to observe the sky, and explore cloud identification and basic meteorology principles.
Note: Head in the Clouds is an engaging viewing experience for all ages, but is particularly meaningful for independent 1st – 4th graders.
