Our minimum chaperone ratio is 1 adult for every 10 children.

We recommend 1 adult for every 5 children, especially for kids, ages 8 and under. 1 adult per 5 children will receive FREE Museum admission.

Yes, the Museum welcomes field trips during the school year. Please navigate to our school year field trips page to learn about our offerings.

The Museum does not have a group dining area on-site. Nearby seating options for group dining include the Woodrow Wilson Plaza, which has benches and tables for public use, where your group can enjoy lunch outdoors (weather permitting), and the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center’s large food court. Groups are not permitted re-entry to the Museum after leaving to eat.

We recommend eating a snack prior to entering the Museum so your group has energy to play until you leave for lunch.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your field trip, notify the Museum immediately by emailing [email protected]. Missed reservations without notice prior to the visit are non-refundable. Rescheduling is possible but dependent on availability.
Two business days after receiving a confirmation email, our team will provide the field trip primary point of contact and the billing contact with an itemized invoice. The invoice will provide details regarding payment options (credit card, check, and bank transfer) and payment due dates. When payment is received, both contacts will be sent a receipt.
The Museum prefers credit card payment. Paying by check or bank transfer are also accepted.
A deposit is not required, but we ask that you pay in full for the number of students and chaperones once you receive your field trip invoice and no later than 2 weeks prior to your field trip.
