National Children’s Museum Welcomes New Trustees

– Juan Hinojosa and Scott Stewart bring critical skill sets and extensive leadership experience to the Board –
WASHINGTON — National Children’s Museum, a nationally-recognized cultural and educational institution in downtown Washington, D.C., dedicated to STEAM and play-based learning, is pleased to announce the recent appointment of two new Trustees: Juan Hinojosa and S. Scott Stewart.

Bowyer, President + CEO of National Children’s Museum. “With rich content knowledge in critical skill set areas, deep connections to the Washington, D.C., community, and a passion for the mission of the institution, Juan and Scott will make incredible contributions to our work as the Museum continues to grow and respond to the needs of our local and national visitors.”
Juan Hinojosa currently serves as the Managing Director of Government Affairs at American Airlines, representing the airline on numerous aviation policy issues pending before Congress. Mr. Hinojosa was previously Chief of Staff to Rep. Mike Quigley (D-IL) for more than seven years, supporting the congressman’s work on the House Appropriations Committee, and before that was Director of Federal Government Relations at Strategies 360. He has significant legislative experience working on the Hill, holding senior positions with numerous members of Congress in both the House of Representatives and U.S. Senate. He lives with his wife and two young sons in McLean, Virginia.
Scott Stewart is the Founder and Managing Partner of Capitol Seniors Housing (CSH), a national seniors housing investment firm. CSH is separate joint venture partners with The Carlyle Group and Bain Capital, two of the largest private equity groups in the world. Prior to his work at CSH, Mr. Stewart ran the Acquisitions Group for Sunrise Senior Living, one of the country’s premier seniors housing service providers. Mr. Stewart also serves on the Boards of the American Seniors Housing Association (ASHA) and Hopecam. He is on the University of Michigan’s Ross School Advisory Board as well as an Adjunct Professor at both Georgetown University and American University in Washington, D.C., teaching real estate courses in both universities’ continuing education programs. Mr. Stewart raised his 3 daughters in McLean, Virginia, and now lives in Georgetown in Washington, D.C.
