Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood: A Grr-ific Exhibit Opens at National Children’s Museum

September 9, 2024
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTONDaniel Tiger’s Neighborhood: A Grr-ific Exhibit opens at National Children’s Museum on Saturday, September 14, 2024! This new exhibit brings to life the themes presented in the award-winning PBS KIDS television series created by Fred Rogers Productions that follows the adventures of 4-year-old Daniel Tiger and his friends.

The Museum’s Visiting Exhibit Hall will host the immersive world of Daniel Tiger’s neighborhood where visitors will work together to solve problems, use their imaginations to transform their surroundings, and play along with Daniel’s singable strategies to learn life’s little lessons. Little learners encounter the meaning of empathy, gratitude, sharing, and diversity in an environment of creativity, music, and interactive play. The exhibit, created by Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh in partnership with Fred Rogers Productions, incorporates themes presented in the PBS series such as community, communication, and emotions, enabling young children to understand their feelings and those of their neighbors.

Along with the emotional lessons gleaned in the Neighborhood, visitors can:

Try on character masks and helper costumes at the Imagination Stage.

Visit the Post Office to sort, deliver, and receive packages and letters.

Express themselves through unusual instruments at the Music Shop.

Meet Daniel and all of his friends at the Neighborhood School Character Mural and make each friend say something special.

Step inside the Clock Factory to play with a variety of clocks.

Write or draw thank-you notes to add to the Thank You Tree.

Cozy up with a good book in O the Owl’s Reading Nest.

Stroll with a Trolley along the path, and ring the bell upon arrival!
