Center for Learning and Innovation

Supported by a generous donation from The Koskinen Family, the Center for Learning and Innovation features daily hands-on learning programs for children and their caregivers in the Museum. Winner of the Judith P. Hoyer Award for Outstanding Service to Children, the Center offers programs related to the Museum's exhibits and core initiatives for children, especially focusing on emergent literacy, culture and art, health and wellness, global citizenship and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math).

For adults, the Center provides annual teachers' programs and training for Maryland-regulated childcare programs based on NCM's own Family Literacy Projects on a Budget: A Trainers' Toolkit. Childcare professionals earn Core of Knowledge MSDE clock hours.
