Be SunWise!

The National Children's Museum is proud to exhibit the winners of the SunWise with SHADE 2013 national poster contest. Organized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency SunWise program and the SHADE Foundation of America, the competition challenged students in grades K-8 to design and create a poster aiming to raise awareness of sun safety.

The national winner (as well as winners from each participating state) will be on display at the National Children's Museum through September 17.

Posters were judged on creativity, originality, and quality of artwork, and all highlighted at least five SunWise action steps such as: prevent sunburns, avoid tanning beds, applying sunscreen, wearing protective clothing and seeking shade.
